WesLink (“the app”) helps users start a WhatsApp chat by entering (or pasting) a phone number and an optional message, then opening WhatsApp using WhatsApp’s official deep link.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1) Information We Collect

A) Information you provide

  • Phone number you type into the app.

  • Optional message text you type into the app.

This information is used only to generate a WhatsApp link and open WhatsApp.

B) Clipboard data (only if available on your device)

  • The app may read text from your clipboard to detect if it looks like a phone number and show a suggestion (for example, “Use number from clipboard”).

Clipboard content is processed on your device for this feature.

C) Locally stored app data (on your device)

The app may store:

  • Your last selected country / dial code

  • Your history of used phone numbers (if you enabled/added history in the app)

This data is stored locally on your device (e.g., using SharedPreferences or local storage). The developer does not receive this history unless you explicitly share it yourself.

D) Advertising data (AdMob)

WesLink displays ads using Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may automatically collect certain information to provide and measure ads, such as:

  • Advertising ID (or other identifiers depending on device settings)

  • IP address, device information, approximate location (derived from IP), app interaction with ads

  • Diagnostic and performance data for ad delivery

This data is handled by Google and advertising partners under their policies.

2) How We Use Information

We use data for:

  • App functionality: formatting a WhatsApp link and opening WhatsApp

  • Convenience features: clipboard detection and country code remembering

  • Local history: showing previously used numbers inside the app (if the feature exists)

  • Advertising: showing ads and measuring performance (AdMob)

3) Sharing of Information

  • We do not sell your personal information.

  • We do not share your locally stored history with third parties.

  • AdMob may share/receive data as part of ad delivery and measurement. This is governed by Google’s policies.

4) Third-Party Services

The app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you.

  • Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) — for showing ads
    Google’s Privacy Policy applies to their data practices.

  • WhatsApp Deep Links (wa.me / WhatsApp app) — when you open WhatsApp, your communication is handled by WhatsApp under WhatsApp’s policies.

5) Permissions and Device Access

Depending on your Android version and device:

  • Clipboard access: used to detect a copied phone number for suggestion.

  • Internet access: required for loading ads and opening WhatsApp links.

6) Data Retention

  • Local data (country selection, history): remains on your device until you clear it from within the app (if the option exists) or uninstall the app.

  • Ad data: retention is controlled by Google/AdMob and partners.

7) Your Choices

You can:

  • Avoid using clipboard suggestions by not copying numbers before opening the app.

  • Clear the app’s data via Android settings (this removes local storage like country + history).

  • Reset or limit the Advertising ID in your device settings (Android privacy settings). This may reduce ad personalization.

8) Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information stored in the app. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

9) Children’s Privacy

WesLink is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted in the website listing or within the app if applicable. The “Last updated” date will be revised.
